Little Mix ‘unfollow’ ex-bandmate Jesy Nelson following the release of her first solo single

Little Mix have unfollowed their ex-bandmate Jesy Nelson on Instagram, following the release of her first solo single.

The 30-year-old left the popular girl band in December last year, explaining that being in the group had taken its toll on her mental health.

Less than one year later, the singer launched her solo music career, dropping her first single Boyz featuring Nicki Minaj last week.

Jesy’s former bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall chose to ignore the release of Boyz on Friday, and instead promoted their own music.

They have also unfollowed Jesy on their personal Instagram accounts, but still follow her through Little Mix’s account.

Ahead of the release of her single, Jesy completely wiped her Instagram account, and is currently only following Nicki Minaj and P Diddy – who makes a cameo appearance in the music video for Boyz.

Last week, Jesy admitted she hasn’t spoken to her former bandmates in a year, telling Glamour magazine:  “I haven’t spoken to the girls.”

“It is weird because for so many years we were as close as sisters, together every hour of the day for weeks, sharing beds, laughing, crying just 24/7 the four of us together and then… Nothing.”

“We’ve sent a few texts, but that’s it. I can’t explain it, it’s like there has to be this distance. We were so close so you can’t do in-between, there has to be space.”

“Hopefully, at some point in the future, we can all come back together. I love them. They are my sisters in so many ways, but for the time being we just don’t talk,” she added.

Speaking on the latest episode of Fearne Cotton’s podcast Happy Place podcast, Jesy admitted she felt “miserable” and “trapped” in Little Mix, and said being compared to her bandmates “every single day” was “draining”.
