Little Mix ignore Jesy Nelson’s solo debut as they promote their own music

Jesy Nelson’s former Little Mix bandmates chose to ignore the release of her debut solo single on Friday, as they promoted their own music.

Following much anticipation, the 30-year-old dropped Boyz featuring Nicki Minaj – less than a year after she quit the girl group.

Fans wondered whether Leigh-Anne Pinncock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall would congratulate Jesy on the release of her new song, but none of them did.

Instead, Perrie and Jade shared two well-timed posts by their publicist Simon Jones – which highlighted some of their recent successes.

The first post revealed that Little Mix has surpassed 6.5 billion views on YouTube, and the second post congratulated them on having two singles in the Top 40.

Earlier this week, Jesy admitted she hasn’t spoken to her former bandmates in a year.

Speaking to Glamour magazine, the 30-year-old confessed: “I haven’t spoken to the girls.”

“It is weird because for so many years we were as close as sisters, together every hour of the day for weeks, sharing beds, laughing, crying just 24/7 the four of us together and then… Nothing.”

“We’ve sent a few texts, but that’s it. I can’t explain it, it’s like there has to be this distance. We were so close so you can’t do in-between, there has to be space.”

“Hopefully, at some point in the future, we can all come back together. I love them. They are my sisters in so many ways, but for the time being we just don’t talk,” she added.

In December last year, Jesy announced she was leaving Little Mix in an emotional statement.

She wrote at the time: “The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life. We have achieved things I never thought possible…”

Jesy explained being in the band had taken its toll on her mental health and that she wanted to spend some time with her loved ones and “do things that make me happy.”

Speaking on the latest episode of Fearne Cotton’s podcast Happy Place podcast, Jesy admitted she felt “miserable” and “trapped” in the group, and said being compared to her bandmates “every single day” was “draining”.
