Harry Redknapp has opened up about his son Jamie’s “difficult” divorce from his wife Louise.
The 75-year-old claimed he and his wife Sandra made a vow to “never interfere” with their split.
The former football manager added that neither he nor his wife could offer advice to Jamie or Louise, because both sets of their parents had been married until death, and nobody was “used to” the idea of divorce.
“It was difficult when Jamie and Louise got divorced because both sets of our parents were married until they died, so we weren’t used to that,” Harry told The UK Times.
Sandra added: “I’ve tried to make life easy for him because his job has been so stressful.”
“When we had babies, fathers didn’t do a lot and Harry never changed a nappy. But he would take them for a walk in the pram to get them to sleep. When they became toddlers, he always had them with him.”
Jamie and Louise ended their 19-year marriage back in 2017.
Earlier this year, the former Eternal singer admitted she has yet to start dating again, as her focus has been on their two sons – Charley, 18, an Beau, 13.
Meanwhile, Jamie began dating Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie in August 2020.
The couple married last October and welcomed their first child together – a son named Raphael the following month.
Frida, 37, shares four children with her ex-husband Jonathan Lourie.
