RTÉ reporter Teresa Mannion ‘might run away with one of the dancers’ on DWTS

Teresa Mannion has joked that she “might run away with one of the dancers” as she gears up for the premiere of RTÉ Dancing With The Stars next week.

The RTÉ reporter, best known for her hilarious weather report on Storm Desmond last year in Galway, proved that she’s got a wicked sense of humour when asked whether she would succumb to the notorious ‘curse’ that’s affected plenty of contestants on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly Come Dancing affairs and the infamous Strictly curse have become a well-known term because of the BBC show seeing the end of plenty of relationships.

Speaking about the curse, Teresa laughed, “Ah yeah, I’ll probably leave my husband before the end of the series. He says hopefully you might run away with one of the dancers.”

On a serious note, Teresa revealed that she’s nervous about her DWTS debut, and admitted that she’s having trouble nailing the Tango.

“I’m absolutely plagued with anxiety, I’m so nervous. Give me a live report on Salthill prom any day over trying to learn the tango.

“I’m struggling with it at the moment. The idea of dancing live on national television is turning my legs to jelly, so I’m hoping for a lot of sympathy votes,” she added.

Dancing With The Stars will air on January 8 on RTÉ One with a a 90-minute episode, and the series will run until the end of March.
