This well-known Irish actor is set to star in a new spin-off of The Office.
Domhnall Gleeson, who has starred in huge Hollywood films such as About Time and Brooklyn has been confirmed for the new series.
The 40-year-old will feature in the spin-off alongside White Lotus star Sabrina Impacciatore.
The new series will not be a reboot of the original show but will follow the same format.
The Office UK and US both filmed the comedy in a documentary style way and followed the “staff” of the company around during their working day.
However, die-hard fans of the show will be disappointed to learn that beloved characters such as Jim Halpert, played by John Krasinski, Pam Beesley, played by Jenna Fischer and Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson, are not set to return to our screens.
The creator of the US version of the show, Greg Daniels, has said that a possible idea for the show is to set it in Dunder Mifflin in the 2020s.
The producer is hoping to have a mixed cast of both new and old faces, picking up for another instalment of the “mockumentary”.
Setting the show in such a timeframe would ensure that some of the original cast members could return and also any non-returning cast members could be easily explained as having found “new jobs.”
Although there has been no exact date for when the new series will hit our screens, it is sure to be a huge hit.
