Dermot O’Leary has revealed he made Simon Cowell sweat by holding off from saying yes to hid old X Factor presenting job.
The Irish man presented the talent show from 2004 up until 2014 before he was replaced in 2015 by Caroline Flack and Olly Murs.
The 43-year-old admitted that he “made [Simon] sweat a little,” before agreeing to take back his role.

Dermot admitted that he felt snubbed when his role was offered to someone else.
“Yes, it stung. You feel a little bit snubbed, but you get on with,” he told Talk TV.
“I always said if it was offered to someone else I’d walk. And that’s what happened so I did.”

The DJ also admitted that it was while he was away with his radio show in Texas that he heard Simon was looking for new X Factor hosts.
“There’d been miscommunication, I suppose, between me and Simon.
“We were very civil, then did what men do and didn’t really talk about things,” he added.
“It wasn’t a no-brainer to come back. I did need chats with people whose counsel I value, whether friends, colleagues or family.”
Simon has said recently that he would like to sign Cruz Beckham to his label.
