Vogue Williams has recalled the terrifying time she “nearly died” as a child.
The TV presenter shared the story on the latest episode of her Spencer & Vogue podcast, which she hosts with her husband Spencer Matthews.
Vogue divulged: “The only time I nearly died – it’s a really weird story and it actually freaks me out when I think about it because I find it so worrying…”
“I was once in a swimming pool and I was on my own and left to my own devices,” she explained.
“I tied myself up with a dressing gown rope and threw myself into the pool to see if I could get out.”
Clearly shocked by her admission, Spencer shouted: “What?”
Vogue then said: “Nobody else was there. I was only like 11 so I wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh if you don’t get out then you’re dead’. I was just seeing if I could untie myself under water.”
Luckily, 11-year-old Vogue managed to untie herself and escaped the pool unharmed.
Looking back, the mother-of-three confessed: “It really freaks me out to think about it that there was such a high chance of me not being able to untie myself.
“I think I did it like three or four times.
“So I feel like that’s the closest I came to death and someone was really looking out for me,” she added.
