They explained: “Some girls were dancing at the front of the stage. We thought they could do with a killer dance and broke into ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’. Last thing we expected was for the lady herself to be in the audience and join us. Wow. Just wow!!!”

Sophie is set to play a gig in Zurich on Monday night, but was out celebrating St Patrick’s Day.

One person who was in the crowd wrote: “Sophie Ellis-Bextor performing Murder on the Dancefloor with a random band from Sligo was not on the 2024 bingo card but here we are.”

Philip Joyce, the guitarist and lead vocalist with Bluemoose, replied: “Imagine how we felt. I thought I was hallucinating when she walked on stage.”
