Roz Purcell blasts online trolls for slating her appearance

Roz Purcell has blasted online trolls for commenting on her appearance.

The former Miss Universe Ireland has a massive online following with 165,000 Instagram followers, and close to 70,000 Twitter followers – which naturally results in experiencing some negativity online.

“I used to always get comments like, ‘Oh you’ve definitely got your lips done,” she said.

The model admitted that she used to get mad about people talking about her lips – but now takes it as a compliment.

“And they’d say to me they think my lips look massive and disgusting,” she told the Irish Daily Mail.

“I got mad at the start, but then Mum said to just take it as a compliment. Now I don’t care about that kind of stuff.

“I’ve always had big lips, the whole way through since I started modelling. I’ve just learned how to use make-up properly and use lip liner. I also lost baby fat on my face.”

The Tipperary native also stuck up for pal Vogue Williams, who slammed online trolls recently for commenting on her body.

“I think 100% fair play to Vogue. She trains really hard and she looks great.

“I’m lucky now in that I’ve found, since doing what I do with food, that the people who tend to follow me are not there to criticise,” she added.

“The odd time if I do get [mean comments] I’ll always reply. I don’t get the people who write things like that, it just makes them look bad and how would you feel if it was you?

“If anyone comments online, I usually comment back because as far as I’m concerned everyone has a right to defend themselves.”
