EXCLUSIVE! Irish fitness model told she was ‘too skinny’ for jobs

Maeve Madden has revealed that she was told she was too skinny for certain modelling jobs.

The blonde model, who runs her own fitness and lifestyle blog, spoke at Lloyds Pharmacy’s Be The Best Version Of You event about her body struggle – and told Goss.ie how it affected her work.

“I did lose jobs because I was skinnier,” she said.

The Down native admitted that some companies “liked” having thinner models, but some didn’t.

“Some companies liked it, some companies didn’t like it,” she told Goss.ie.

“I was about a size six and I’m still more a size six to eight now but I have more muscle definition now.”

Maeve also revealed that she recently lost a contract after being told that she “looked too fit” for the brand’s clothes.

“Even now that I’ve come from being so skinny, I’ve recently lost a contract because they said I looked too fit and too athletic.

“They said that I didn’t suit their clothing anymore.

“I didn’t really care because I’m happy in myself and I would rather look like this,” she added.
