Barry Keoghan has revealed that he wants to be “the best person” for his son Brando.
The 31-year-old welcomed his son alongside ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro back in August 2022.
The Saltburn actor met the Scottish dentist in a London-based pub back in 2021.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the Irish actor opened up about fatherhood.
He said: “He has a lot to live up to, I tell you. It’s great.”
“I’ve seen him two days ago, and I spent some really good quality time with him. I’ve seen him grow. He’s amazing.”
“You see little resemblances and little characteristics coming through, and it’s just beautiful. It’s a new territory for me, and I want to be the best person for him.”
“It’s a very important thing for me—for him to be able to grow up and be proud of his daddy, and to lean on his daddy.”
He continued: “And if he has questions or anything, I’m always there for him in that sense of learning and growing with him and failing.”
“[Picks up a stuffed toy wolf.] I’ve got his little wolf here, innit? He’s young, but he’s full of cheekiness already. His smile breaks my heart. When he makes eye contact with you, you just melt.”
Since his split from Alyson, Barry has been linked to singer Sabrina Carpenter.
The actor was first linked to the American singer in December, when they were papped out for dinner together in Los Angeles.
The mother of Barry’s ex-girlfriend Alyson had previously seemingly confirmed his new romance with the pop princess.
Alyson’s mother Kathy has since told MailOnline that Barry gave her the “heads up” about his new relationship before it hit headlines.
“They’re on talking terms and need to be for wee Brando,” she said.
“Barry had the decency to give Alyson the heads up about his new girlfriend and we can’t fault him for that. Alyson is now focusing on herself and her son.”
When asked why Alyson and Barry parted ways, she added: “I’m not getting into that.”
