Fergal has picked up a number of awards since he began on the midlands radio station 8 years ago.

He took home a Gold PPI Award for Light Hearted Magazine Programme in 2008 and a Silver PPI Award in 2013 for Best Music Programme.

The Roscommon man revealed that the show will be fun and exciting and will have something very different.

‘Let’s just say we’ll be concentrating on a good music mix with plenty of banter and it will be a force to be reckoned with,” he explained.

The announcement comes after Ray D’Arcy left Today FM late last year and returned to RTE to host his show on Radio 1.
