Cecelia Ahern is 'so proud' of brother-in-law Nicky Byrne's post-Westlife radio success

Cecelia Ahern has admitted she’s “so proud” of her brother-in-law Nicky Byrne – after his radio award nominations.

Goss.ie previously told how the former Westlife star was flying high after getting a nod in the PPI Radio Awards.

And Cecelia – whose latest novel features a famous DJ going through a dark time – said they never miss the 2FM show.

She said:”I listen to it every day. It got nominated for two radio awards and I’m so proud of him.

“There’s just a lovely chemistry between himself and Jenny. I find myself smiling just listening to it. The pair of them genuinely get on great.”

And Cecelia feels that going into radio was a natural transition for Nicky after his Westlife days.

She said: “If you’re hosting a concert in front of 100,000, that’s a huge amount of experience right there, it’s a great CV to have and people love him and he’s naturally nosy. I knew he’d do great.”
