Mother of five-year-old girl injured in Dublin knife attack says she’s ‘still fighting’ in hopeful update

The mother of the five-year-old girl injured in a knife attack on Parnell Square last month has shared a hopeful update on her condition.

The little girl was just one of three children injured alongside a childcare worker on November 23 in the Irish capital.

In a new statement, the five-year-old’s mum said: “Our little girl is a warrior. She is still fighting.”

“She remains in the PICU with hopes of moving to the ward before the end of the year,” the statement continued. “We can all feel the love and prayers every second of the day.”

“Had it not been for all of our friends, family and everyone’s support, we wouldn’t have had the strength to stand, and for that we thank you all.”

A statement released earlier this month read: “Dear all, thank you so much for the incredible gesture and kindness you have shown our family during these troubled times. Your thoughts, prayers and generosity have and will go a long way.”

“Our little girl has shown incredible strength and is still here with us. We don’t know yet what lies ahead as it is still early, but she is resilient and limitations will not stop her. Thank you so much. All the love we can give.”
