How to watch Irish sprinter Rhasidat Adeleke in the 400m world final after incredible qualifier

Irish sprinter Rhasidat Adeleke will take on the 400m final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Wednesday evening.

The 20-year-old finished second in her semi-final race on Monday night, which was won by Marileidy Paulino in 49.54.

With a time of 49.87, the Tallaght native became the first Irish sprint finalist at the WAC for 14 years – since David Gillick and Derval O’Rourke back in 2009.

Rhasidat, who took home the Rising Star award at Goss.ie‘s inaugural Women of the Year Awards in 2022, missed the final by one place during her World Championships debut last July.

The 20-year-old has since turned pro, and made her professional debut in the Monaco Diamond League in July, clocking a time of 49.99.

The 400m final at the World Athletics Championships takes place at 8.35pm Irish time on Wednesday, with Adeleke the fifth fastest qualifier.

The race will air on Virgin Media Two, with coverage of the WAC starting at 5.50pm.
