Goss Media are looking to hire an Entertainment Reporter who is dedicated, creative and social-media-focused.

Goss.ie is Ireland’s leading showbiz news website, breaking entertainment news faster than our competitors, keeping our readers up to date on all the latest celebrity news before anybody else.

Not only do we boast over 260,000 followers on social media, meaning being social-media savvy will be a core part of your role, but we also create some of the biggest events in the industry, including The Gossies, Goss.ie’s Women of the Year Awards and the Goss.ie Countdown Show.

We are looking for a reporter with a natural flare for social media, a strong understanding of what our readers find newsworthy,  and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Whether it is breaking a showbiz story before any other publication, making a piece of video content go viral or landing an exclusive interview on a red carpet, our ideal candidate will be experienced in celebrity and online journalism.

This role is based in the office in South Dublin and includes one work-from-home day a week.

Duties

  • Reporter to the Editor in Chief
  • Write breaking news stories and features on a daily basis
  • Share articles and content through the Goss.ie social media channels
  • Conduct exclusive interviews regularly
  • Work on Goss.ie events
  • Work with team members on Goss.ie productions (IE photo shoots, videos and podcasts)
  • Attend red-carpet events for interview opportunities
  • Attend event launches for coverage across Goss.ie social media channels

Our Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have a minimum of 1 year experience as a showbiz journalist
  • Spot news stories before anyone else
  • Follow top Irish celebrities, worldwide celebrities and influencers
  • Read multiple news publications daily
  • Be up to date with current affairs and pop culture
  • Be personable in interviews
  • Have an interest in events
  • Have an interest in production
  • Have multiple social media accounts and follow relevant people across all platforms
  • Be hard-working and dedicated
  • Be a team player
  • Be an ambitious and enthusiastic individual with knowledge of the Irish showbiz industry
  • Be a confident writer with excellent spelling and grammar
  • Be a self-starter ideally with a background in journalism
  • Have experience with WordPress
  • Be very interested in celebrity culture and knows the latest on everything from the Kardashians to what the biggest trends on TikTok are
