What's another year? Johnny Logan representing Ireland in Eurovision anniversary concert

Johnny Logan has been confirmed as the Irish act who will commemorate 60 years of the Eurovision by taking part in Eurovision’s Greatest Hits.

The one-off special is due to air during Easter weekend and will be hosted by TV legend Graham Norton with Johnny due to perform a medley of the songs that made him a star, What’s Another Year and Hold Me Now.

The 60-year-old is known as Mr Eurovision after being the only person to win the competition three times – twice as a performer in 1980 and 1987 and once as a songwriter in 1992.

Johnny previously revealed he would never represent Ireland again in the famous contest, despite RTE offering him the gig back in 2009.

However, the Australian born star did perform at the contest last year in Copenhagen, however the gig was only broadcast on Danish TV.

Goss.ie recently chatted to fellow Eurovision veteran Linda Martin who revealed she thinks Ireland needs to go back to the ballads if we ever have a chance of winning the song contest ever again.
