The Edge of reason: U2's the Edge opens up about that fall

U2 began their tour in unfortunate fashion when star bass player The Edge with too near the edge of the stage and fell off.

The 53-year-old bass player fell of the stage while performing with the band on their opening night of the iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour tour in Vancouver two weeks ago however the musician was left uninjured.

“It was a moment of reverie where I just completely lost track of where I was on the stage,” he revealed.

“Out of the corner of my eye I could see the curve of the round and I thought I was already there,

“I stepped off on what I thought was the stage and I had basically cut the corner. It was one of those things you do only once,” he told CBS Sunday Morning.

Fellow band member Adam Clayton opened up about the traumatic moment, admitting he was “sick in the pit of my stomach” when the musician fell of the tall stage.

Drummer Larry Mullen Jr also admitted his shock and worry as he thought it was the “start and end” of their tour.
