Taylor Swift ‘set for’ MAJOR career move after historic Grammy wins

Taylor Swift is reportedly set for a major new career move after her record-breaking Grammy wins.

The songstress made history at the 2024 Grammy Awards, becoming the first artist to win Album of the Year for the fourth time.

The 34-year-old also surprised fans by announcing her latest album – The Tortured Poets Department, set for release on April 19.

The US Sun has now reported that Taylor is now planning to write her own book.

This news comes after Taylor’s team, TAS Rights Management, trademarked a number of phrases and words.

One was called, A Girl Named Girl, which is the title of a novel the superstar penned when she was just 14 years old.

Little is known about the novel, apart from what snippets Taylor’s given in previous interviews with the manuscript said to be safely in the hands of her parents Andrea and Scott.

Taylor has revealed in old interviews that the plot surrounds a mother, who gives birth to a daughter after wanting a son.

She told Vogue in 2012: “We lived on this basin where all this magical stuff would happen. One time a dolphin swam into our basin.”

“We had this family of otters that would live on our dock at night. We’d turn the light on and you’d see them, you know, hanging out, just being otters.”

“And then one summer, there was a shark that washed up on our dock. I ended up writing a novel that summer because I wouldn’t go in the water.”

“I locked myself in the den and wrote a book. When I was fourteen. Because of a shark!”

Back at a talk she gave to a group of children for Scholastic on the importance of reading and writing in October 2014, she said about ultimately pursuing her music career: “But since then, I’ve discovered music and that’s the form of writing that inspires me the most.”

“It’s not to say that I wouldn’t expand the mediums and the ways that I choose to write.”

“What if I end up writing a script or a book, or a book of poetry or something? That would be so amazing. I would love to see that happen.”

The trademark application for A Girl Named Girl, to the US Patent and Trademark Office is the third time Taylor’s team have filed since 2015.
