Shane Lynch is set to tap into his dark side this Christmas as he takes on the role of one of Panto’s best loved villians.
The former Boyzone star will portray Captain Hook in a UK production of Peter Pan.
Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine, the Dubliner admitted he can’t wait to get stuck into the part.
“I love playing a type of character that you can play around with that has a type of cartoon quality that Captain Hook definitely has,” he said.
The pop star admitted that his daughters are his biggest fans and have been helping him to prepare for the role.
“Billie helped me to decide how I was going to play Captain Hook – we would read my lines together and she’d tell me how best for me to say them, it was great fun,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shane’s Boyzone pal Ronan Keating took to social media to wish his former bandmate the best of luck.
The panto opens at Sevenoaks threatre in Kent on December 5 and runs until January 10 2016.
