One Direction turn down €1 million deal

One Direction have turned down a €1million sponsorship deal from a ticket site used to re-sell concert tickets.

Niall Horan previously revealed he and the band were against any tout sites who’s aim was to make extra money off their fans.

“For me there is no better feeling than playing live for fans.

“We always thought very carefully about how tickets were priced and so to regularly see fans on Twitter unable to get a ticket or having to pay ridiculous secondary ticketing prices was incredibly frustrating.

Support: Niall is against tout sites

“Those sites are all about making a quick buck, they are terrible for music and for real music fans.”

Sites such as Viagogo and StubHub have been making huge profits off selling tickets, but sources told the Sunday Mirror the One Direction turned down the opportunity to work alongside such a site.

“1D got offered a sevenfigure sum by a secondary ticketing company to be featured on their site, and a very large share on uplift on those highly-priced tickets.

“The band flatly turned this down,” the insider added.
