Gary Barlow’s £6m mansion has been “targeted by a gang of burglars as the singer performed with Take That.”
It has been revealed that the attempted home invasion occured whilst the 53-year-old sang on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway last month.
The father-of-three lives in the property with his wife Dawn, also 53, and children Daniel, Emily, and Daisy however it is unknwon if they were at home at the time.
According to The Sun, the thieves waited until it was dark to force the mansion’s front gate to gain access.
It is still known if any of the singer or his family’s items were stolen in the raid.
Gary is said to have been unaware of the break in until the following day when the police were informed.
One onlooker told the outlet: “When I drove past I saw officers taking photos of the gates, which had been damaged.”
“They were left half open. A few days later the gates had been fixed.”
While a second source said: “The police have been round to ask me about what happened, but I wasn’t aware of anything. I noticed the gates were flapping open. It’s a rather secluded place. It’s a warning to us all.”
In March, Gary opened up about his Poppy’s tragic death and admitted he thought it would end his marriage.
Gary’s wife Dawn gave birth to their stillborn daughter Poppy in 2012, just days before the Take That singer had to perform at the Olympics closing ceremony.
The 43-year-old has now confessed that he has not dealt with the loss of his fourth child: “I haven’t really found peace with it yet.”
Speaking on The Imperfects podcast, Gary explained: “I don’t talk about this in great detail and I literally don’t because I’m still kind of figuring it out a little bit.”
“My wife’s emotions were completely different to mine. I’ve been angry for a long time about that, I haven’t really found peace with it yet.”
He continued: “We had a worrying statistic when it happened to us, something like 95 percent of couples split up when something like that happens to them.”
