Bono has admitted he has an “extra-special annoying gene” – following outrage over the bands free album.
The U2 frontman admitted it was a bad idea to have their album Songs of Innocence made available for free to all iTunes accounts.
However, the Dubliner claimed he did not realise it would be made available to every user, whether they wanted it or not.

The Dublin rocker admitted that he did not anticipate the negative reaction the marketing move received but added that he has always “taken pride in being divisive.”
He added: “I do appreciate that I might have an extra-special annoying gene.”
Bono also revealed he once had a “go f*** yourself” argument with Apple’s Steve Jobs that was so dramatic he went to rival company Blackberry for sponsorship of their 2009 360° Tour.
About the argument with his friend, Bono said “I had a tantrum like a child and went to the competition.”
