Ed Sheeran tipped to play Croke Park this summer – as it's revealed new gig is planned

Ed Sheeran has been tipped to play Croke Park this year – after it was revealed a new act will soon be announced for summer.

GAA bosses said there will be another concert taking place at the stadium in 2015, along with The Script.

Now bookies have put the Thinking Outloud star at the top of their books to upgrade to the 82,000-seater venue at 11/4.

BoyleSports’ Liam Glynn said: “Ed Sheeran has been installed as the favourite to play Croke Park after a phenomenal last 12 months, gaining a massive following here on the Emerald Isle”.

Although U2, who have yet to announce their exact plans for their Irish gigs are at 5/4.

But Bono previously said they were hoping to play more intimate, indoor shows during their tour, with the 3 Arena thought to be more likely.

Croker date? U2 could make it their Dublin venue

It’s 13/2 that Robbie Williams will return to the GAA headquarters whilst his former band, Take That can be backed at 9/1.

Meanwhile, Florence and The Machine are 8/1 to play the stadium with Calvin Harris 9/1.

Hozier has been making waves across the world and is 12/1 to be announced while Garth Brooks is 20/1 to make up for his fiasco last year.
