Ed Sheeran could STILL be playing Croke Park – as GAA rules out The Boss

Ed Sheeran could still be playing Croke Park this year – after it has been denied The Boss will play two mammoth gigs here.

Sources claimed that Bruce Springsteen was going to be announced on Friday as the mystery act playing the GAA stadium.

But a GAA spokesman said: “Springsteen will not be playing Croke Park this summer. We were not consulted on this story.

Rumour: But Bruce won’t be playing Croker

“Had we been, we would have ruled out Bruce Springsteen playing any concerts in Croke Park.”

It comes after GAA bosses revealed there will be another act playing at Croker this summer, along with The Script’s show on June 20.

Bookies have placed Ed Sheeran on top, along with U2, as likely headliners – after Bruce has been discounted.

And Peter Aiken, of Aiken Promotions – who have dealt all of Springsteen’s Irish shows – has fully dismissed reports the Boss is coming back.

Possibility: U2 have yet to be ruled out totally

He said: “I have no idea where the story came from that Bruce was going to play Croke Park.

“No one spoke to me about it at any stage before it was printed — and we have consistently promoted Bruce Springsteen’s shows in Ireland.

“I can tell you that there is no truth whatsoever in it. It is not happening. It is as simple as that.”

It comes a year after Garth Brooks cancelled five shows at the stadium.
