U2 are set to ditch Croke Park for the 3Arena next November, it has been revealed.
The Dubliners are planning to play “at least two to three” nights at the 14,500-capacity stadium, sources close to the band have said.
So far, U2 have yet to officially announce dates for Ireland apart from stating that “special shows are being planned for Dublin for the end of next year”.

Sources revealed they have decided that at least three nights at the 3Arena is the perfect way to end next year’s tour, although it could be extended depending on demand.
Previously they played four nights at The Point, which was owned by pal Harry Crosbie, in December 1989.
But the 3Arena will be considerably smaller than their last set of Irish gigs, when they played to more than 240,000 people over three nights at Croker in 2009.

Earlier this year, Bono hinted that they were done with outdoor shows.
He said: “We’d like to play indoors. Those big outdoor shows, grand operas – some of the best nights of our lives have been there playing those. No roof over your head.
“But for these tunes, we’re certainly going to start indoors. We’d like to play the O2, those kind of places.
“They’re nice little clubs. It’s nice to play intimate things like that.”
