Boyzone get lowest EVER album placing in Irish charts – as Motown record doesn't even make top 10

Boyzone appear to have lost their way in Ireland – after receiving the lowest ever placing for a new album.

The Dubliners only managed to chart at No12 with their latest record, Dublin To Detroit, which sees them going for a Motown sound.

It is the first time that Boyzone – Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch – have found themselves outside the No10 in Ireland apart from compilations.

Their last album, BZ20, went to No7 when it was released last year – and hit No6 in the UK charts.

Sources said that a lack of promotion for the record may have lead to a lack of knowledge that the album was out.

Previously Keith Duffy claimed that going Motown had rejuvenated the group.

He said: “It’s kind of rejuvenating us. It’s giving us just good times and good memories in the studio.

“So fingers crossed people will receive it well and it goes well for us.”

They will be hoping for more interest in Dublin To Detroit after they perform at Childline this weekend.

The Coronas saw their new album go in at No2 this week, Olly Murs was at No7 and David Guetta was at No9.
