Electric Picnic have announced that Bananarama are the first act for their Throwback Party
The British pop band were one of the most loved girl bands of the 80s and won the Juno Award for International Single of the Year in 1993.
Founding members Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward admitted they are excited to play the festival after having not played in Ireland for so long.
“We are so excited to play Electric Picnic for the first time where we’ll take to the stage at Electric Ireland’s Throwback Party,” they said.
“We haven’t played in Ireland for a long time and have really missed playing to an Irish crowd.”
The girl group have released some amazing songs over the years, including this empowering classic from 1986.
