XXX director ‘p*ssed’ Conor McGregor didn’t star in film

The role was written with the MMA star in mind, who had said yes to the role

XXX: The Return of Xander Cage director DJ Caurso has admitted he was really ‘p*ssed’ that Conor McGregor didn’t star in his film.

UFC star Michael Bisping starred in the film in a role that was originally written by DJ for the Crumlin native.

“I wasn’t disappointed, I was really p*ssed,” he said.

“Conor had said yes he was going to do the movie [then] he went and got his ass kicked by Nate Diaz,” he told Entertainment.ie.

“After that, he sort of back out but didn’t back out. We had liked Michael Bisping from the onset and so we reached back out to him and got him.

“I think it all works out for great reasons – and then to have Michael become the world champion while you’re getting to now him.”
