Jamie Dornan’s new movie will be available on Netflix

Jamie Dornan’s new film, The Siege of Jadotville, is set to air on Netflix.

The movie is based off of the true story of Irish troops in the Congo in the 1960s.

“This film will be an amazing addition to our global original films initiative,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos admitted.

The Down native plays Commander Pat Quinlan, who was part of a small group of UN peacekeepers who found themselves surrounded by the hostile situation.

“The story of how Pat Quinlan led his troops against an overwhelming force without losing a single man is one of the great stories of the 20th century,” Ted admitted to The Irish Independent.

“We are proud to be working with such a talented and committed team to bring it to life.

Music on the film soundtracks will include big names like Bon Jovi and Irish band U2.

No date is set yet for the film’s Netflix release, but it will premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh.
