Kerry director Gerard Barrett is set to direct an adaptation of Susannah Cahalan’s best selling memoir Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness.
Gerard, who won the IFTA Rising Star award, has had a successful year already, with his new movie Glassland debuting at the Sundance Film Festival this week.
The movie starring Toni Colette and Jack Reyor has already received high praise from critics after premiering at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Now Gerard will direct Dakota Fanning in the new movie, with Charlize Theron co-producing.
According to Deadline.com Gerard will write, direct and co-produce the movie, which will be shot in Vancouver and New York.
Shooting starts this May.
