Police ask Drake to help track down his friend’s murderers through social media

The rapper's close friend was murdered last week

Police detectives have asked Drake to use his following on social media to help track down the men who murdered his close friend Anthony “Fif” Soares.

The singer’s pal, who was 33-years-old, was gunned down outside the foyer of an apartment building in Toronto, Canada on September 14.

Anthony was shot multiple times at around 3am, and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery, but sadly passed away there.

Following his death, Drake paid tribute to his friend on Instagram, writing, “RIP to one of our family members…our brother… I still can’t even believe this morning was real. It was a honor to have shared years together and I will always keep your memory alive Forever Fif.”

Police are now on the hunt for the shooters, and have asked Drake to help them in their investigation.

“Drake was a friend of his… Many of the family members have met Drake and I certainly would encourage him, through his tweets, to encourage anybody within the community to come forward with regards to any information they may have that might assist in solving his friend’s murder,” Detective Sergeant Gary Giroux told the New York Daily News.

Police released a graphic video of the moment Anthony was shot to the public, in order to gather more information and track down the murderers.

At the time of his death, Anthony was in a relationship, and was the father of a young child.
