Kourtney Kardashian has opened up about the pressure to “bounce back” after having a baby.
The reality star is currently on holiday with her sisters Khloé and Kim Kardashian in Turks and Caicos.
She took to Instagram to get candid about her postpartum journey, and share an inspirational message to fellow mothers.
The 44-year-old welcomed her fourth child in November, her first with husband Travis Barker, drummer for Blink-182.
She said: “Dear new mommies. Your body is beautiful at all stages. During pregnancy as we are glowing and growing, postpartum as we are healing and shrinking, and then that period I find the hardest as our bodies are still adjusting.”
“And if you’re breastfeeding that’s a whole other part of it. I try to be kind to myself as my body finds a new normal.”
She added: “The pressure put on us to bounce back when everything is new and different isn’t realistic.”
She concluded her message telling other mothers: “You are beautiful. Just a little reminder (for me too).”
Kourtney and her husband Travis welcomed their son Rocky Thirteen in November.
The 44-year-old also shares three children with her ex Scott Disick – Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9.
The Kardashian previously opened up about self-acceptance while she was postpartum.
In a post shared on Instagram in December, she wrote: “When not much in the closet fits yet and the boobs are filled with milk, throw on a cozy coat 🧸🎄.”
Over the past few months, Kourtney has been taking baby Rocky on tour with Travis’ band Blink-182, spending time on the road.
A source previously told Entertainment Tonight: “Kourtney and Travis are over the moon and could not be more elated that they share a child of their own together.”
“Kourtney and Travis already had an unbreakable bond, but having a baby together has brought them even closer and made them fall even more in love. This experience has solidified their feelings that they were destined to be together.”
