Everything we know about Rebel Wilson’s explosive memoir

Rebel Wilson has revealed all in her new memoir Rebel Rising: A Memoir and this is everything we know about the explosive book so far.

The Aussie actress has been on a worldwide promo tour where she has been discussing the controversial parts of her book.

The Bridesmaids star has stirred up a lot of controversy since she announced her debut memoir.

The Sacha Baron Cohen Drama

Before the release of her book, Rebel made bombshell allegations against actor Sacha Baron Cohen.

She publicly named Sacha the actor as the celebrity she branded an “a**hole” in her memoir, Rebel Rising.

She claimed that Sacha Baron Cohen asked her to strip naked on set amid their vicious legal battle last week.

The Australian actress claimed she was facing potential legal action after writing about her experience working with an unnamed former co-star.

Rebel claimed to have had some uncomfortable experiences with the actor, while filming the 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby.

The most shocking allegation from the passage was that he requested Rebel “stick her finger up his butt” because he thought it would make the scene funnier.

Rebel wrote: “It felt like every time I’d speak to SBC, he’d mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene. I was like, ‘Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha.’”

The 44-year-old also claimed that she was allegedly requested to do an additional scene while shooting in Cape Town, South Africa.

In Rebel’s recollection of the moment, Sacha said: “OK, well, we’re gonna film this extra scene,” and the actress added: “Then he pulls his pants down.”

Rebel also revealed that Sacha said: “OK, now I want you to stick your finger up my a**. And I’m like, ‘What?? … No!!’”

Sacha has strongly denied any mistreatment of Rebel and added that he never pressured her to be naked in the film.

Losing her Virginity at 35

The actress also opened up about having sex for the first time at the age of 35.

The 44-year-old explained that “not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager.”

She shared the revelation in an interview with People magazine ahead of the release of her memoir.

“People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature,” she added.

The actress hopes that opening up about her personal experience “could be a positive message” for others.

She named the actor as Mickey Gooch Jr. who she was romantically linked to in 2015 and shared a scene in Wilson and Dakota Johnson’s 2016 film, How to Be Single.

“You obviously don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn’t feel pressure as a young person,” she said.

Rebel also described herself as a “late bloomer,” and used to lie to friends that she “did it just to get it over with” while in her 20s, or leave the room when the topic would come up.

Fertility Struggles

In February 2023, Rebel got engaged to clothing designer Ramona Agruma at Disneyland.

In November 2022, the actress also became a mom to daughter Royce Lillian via surrogate.

When the actress announced the birth of her daughter, she said: “I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle!”

Before the birth of her daughter, Rebel experienced fertility issues, which is said to be detailed in her memoir.

In 2021, she took to Instagram and opened up about the struggles: “I got some bad news today and didn’t have anyone to share it with…but I guess I gotta tell someone.”

“To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense…but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds.”

Shortly after, she added an update: “Just wanted to say I woke up this morning and read through everyone’s kind messages and stories about their journeys, and I can’t tell you how much that meant to me and has made me feel a lot better today.”

“Social media for the win here in terms of creating connection, when I was in a very lonely place. So thank you, everyone.”

The memoir Rebel Rising: A Memoir is set to be released in Ireland on April 25th.

It will be available to buy for €19.72 in Easons and other book retailers.
