Superheroes by The Script was announced the Meteor Choice Music Prize Song of The year.
The Dublin trio received the accolade at the event which celebrates the best in Irish music.
The band weren’t able to accept the award in person as they were on tour playing in Manchester.
Sending a pre recorded message, the band were thrilled with the award.

Lead singer Danny O’Donoghue spoke on behalf of the band and thanked their family but most importantly their fans for voting for them to win the award.
Meanwhile The Gloaming were crowned the winners of this year’s Meteor Music Choice Prize Album of The Year.
The contemporary Irish group are currently touring Australia so were unable to accept their award so two of their other halves accepted on their behalf for their self titled album.

An electric atmosphere surrounded the coveted awards as the best in Irish music showcased their talents to an eager crowd.
While neither winners could attend the event in Dublin’s Vicar Street, stars Eoghan McDermott and Blathnaid Treacy hosted the event – with a special airing on RTE 2 this Sunday.
2FM host Eoghan looked dapper as he was joined by model girlfriend Jo Archbold.

Nominees playing at this years awards show included Delorentos, The Minutes and The Riptide Movement.
Putting on an outstanding performance was James Vincent McMorrow who had just flown in from San Francisco for the event.
Other stars spotted on the Meteor red carpet, included 2FM host Louise McSharry and actress and singer Tara Lee.
