Music Mogul Simon Cowell has reached out to former X Factor judge Louis Walsh as it was revealed the reality show is struggling to bring in viewers.
Alarmed at the TV ratings tumble, Louis was contacted by the father-of-one and had a reported hour long chat.
“Simon has called Louis to chat through what hasn’t worked with the They remain close friends and Simon respects Louis’s opinion — he was a key factor behind the success of The X Factor,” a source said.

The Mayo man was a judge on the popular singing show for 11 series but last year announced he was stepping down with BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw taking his place.
While Simon has no intention of removing the 31-year-old, he is considering getting Louis back.
“He’s staying loyal to Grimmy but Louis very much remains part of the X Factor family,” the insider told The Sun.

The X Factor suffered a loss in the TV ratings on Saturday night against Strictly Come Dancing with the dancing contest getting 1.2 million more viewers but on Sunday night the ITV show improved in viewership figures.
While it is not yet known what role Louis will play, there are also reports that the HomeTown manager will join Cheryl at judges houses.
