Cillian Murphy: 'I'm getting more family roles as I get older'

Cillian Murphy has admitted he’s being cast in “middle-aged” film roles – regardless of him being only in his 30’s.

The 39-year-old, who is known for his youthful looks – has insisted he’s starting to see the first signs of ageing as he gets closer to 40.

“I’m noticing it more and more. I’m greying a little around the temples, I’m seeing a few more lines here and there. But it’s all good. We all mature into our looks,” he said.

Opening up about his film roles, the dad-of-two revealed he is getting cast to play more father characters recently.

“I have noticed the roles are starting to get more middle-aged,” he told the Sunday World.

“I’m getting family men and I never used to get that until recently. It’s fine. I’m a dad. The work remains of a certain quality but you enter a new stage.”
