Marty Morrissey is set to take over Derek Mooney’s Radio 1 show ahead of Ray D’Arcy’s return to the station.
The GAA pundit will take over Mooney next month, keeping the seat warm for Ray, who will start in February.
RTE insiders have revealed Marty is happy to fill the slot for now.

“Marty is delighted to be jumping into the hot seat.
“Obviously he knows it’s temporary because Ray will be coming in February. But everyone loves Marty.
“He’s great craic and he has that personality everyone warms too.
“It’s never a dull place with him about. So he’ll be welcomed with open arms,” a source told the Mirror.
While Marty is covering for Derek, presenter Alison Curtis is covering for Ray on Today FM.

The station put out a job listing yesterday for the new “voice of a nation”.
As Goss.ie previously revealed, radio stars Hector O hEochagain and Sean Moncrief are both in the running to take Ray’s gig.
