Brendan O’Connor pulls in impressive ratings with new show

Brendan O’Connor has officially returned to RTÉ with his new show Cutting Edge – and it’s already gone down a hit.

After taking a year-long break, the presenter returned to the small screen with his brand new weekly show on Wednesday night, which features a panel of well-known faces to discuss topical issues.

According to Independent.ie, the show proved popular with a reach of 574,700 viewers, tuning in for a minute or more, with an average of 265,600 who watched the entire hour-long show.

Brendan’s panel included comedian Newstalk’s Chris O’Donoghue, publishing boss Norah Casey, and comedian Pat Shortt.

 “We’re delighted with the reaction to Brendan’s new show last night,” said Adrian Lynch, Channel Controller at RTÉ One.

“The series got off to a great start attracting significantly larger numbers of audience than had been previously tuning into to that time slot”.

Cutting Edge airs next Wednesday at 9.30pm on RTÉ One.
