Alannah Beirne is happy out to have the first harvest of this seasons of strawberries in tow.
The first crop of Aldi’s Irish strawberries is surely a sign that these grey days will go away and the sun will show itself soon.
Aldi is sourcing its Irish strawberries from the McGuinness Brothers of North County Dublin, and plans to sell 800 tonnes of Irish grown strawberries this year!
The McGuinness Brothers have been growing Irish strawberries for many years and have this year erected new state of the art glasshouses to supply Aldi with early season Irish Strawberries.
Finbar McCarthy, Aldi’s Group Buying Director said, “We know that for our customers, Irish produce is always their first choice. We are delighted to be able to offer our customers early season Irish strawberries for Spring.”
Flat out since finishing Dancing With The Stars, Alannah Beirne looked beautiful posing with the produce in a floaty floral dress.
Aldi is committed to growing its Irish supply base and increasing the number of Irish products available in its stores.
In 2016 Aldi spent over €700 million with Irish producers, manufacturers and suppliers.
Over 50% of Aldi’s sales come from products sourced from Irish based suppliers.
With the strawberries ready, all that’s left is a sun dance to summon summer!
