Peter Coonan reveals a Love/Hate movie is a BAD idea

Love/Hate star Peter Coonan has brushed off ideas to film Love/Hat the movie.

The Dublin actor, who played Fran in the award winning series, admitted that while he can’t say it will never happen, he believes it’s better to leave the show where it ended.

“I suppose you never say never, but I always think with something like this, it’s better to leave it as it is,” he said on The Nicky Byrne Show on 2FM.

“The great TV shows, The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad – well Breaking Bad is potentially coming back – but you leave it, it finishes on a high.

No more: Peter thinks it’s a bad idea to make a movie

“If the writer has written it like Stuart [Carolan] has written them all himself, that’s a hell of a lot of work to go through, so you just say, ‘That’s what it was’.

“If you try again, it might dilute the quality of the previous work, so it’s better to leave it as it is I think,” he explained.

Peter is currently focusing on the stage at the moment, and is rehearsing for a Sean O’Casey play Juno and the Peacock which will run at the Gate Theatre in Dublin from next month.
