Hozier gives advice to aspiring musicians: 'Don't be afraid to spend time alone'

Grammy nominee Hozier has told fans to spend time by themselves – if they want to make the big time.

The Take Me To Church star admitted that people come and go in life, so musicians should focus their attention on bettering themselves.

When asked by a fan what advice he had, Hozier said:

“I’d say don’t be afraid to spend some time alone. People come and go but you and yourself are in it for the long run.”

Speaking to Twitter users during an #AskHozier Q&A last night, Hozier admitted he would have become “an anthropologist or a psychologist” if he hadn’t made the big time.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old revealed performing with Annie Lennox was the most memorable moment from The Grammys.

It was an honor to share the stage with her,” he admitted.

However, the musician can’t remember too much of the wild after party. “After party was memorable up to a point,” he admitted.

Hozier also weighed in on #TheDress that went viral on social media – and admitted he didn’t really understand the craze.

“I stared at it, but all I saw was my life wasting away.”
