6. The ice bucket challenge videos
There were so many ice bucket challenges in 2014, we nearly lost count (nearly) and Irish celebs were no different to the superstars who took part in the charity campaign.
Our favourite video has to be Chris O’Dowd’s – who also announced that he was expecting his first child in the video.

5. The Coronas music video
We were all eagerly awaiting the new album from The Coronas, but it was their new music video that first caught our attention.
Danny O’Reilly and the lads released their music video for Just Like That in October, and made Henry the Hoover very popular again.
4. Bob Geldof thrown off Sky News after swearing too much
This was equally hilarious and awkward.
Bob Geldof was asked to come on to speak about the Ebola crisis and his new Christmas charity single Do They Know It’s Christmas.

3. Hozier at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Wicklow singer Hozier has had some outstanding performances this year, but playing the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was surreal (not just for him).
In 2014 alone Hozier played Saturday Night Live and reached the number 1 spot in the US.
2. Ed Sheeran surprises fan on the Late Late Toy Show
Everyone in the country got teary eyed when singing sensation Ed Sheeran surprised this little girl on the Late Late Show.
Not only did he sing with his young fan, he also organised flights and tickets to his London gig.
1. The first trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey
Yes our very own hunky star Jamie Dornan has to steal the number one spot on this list.
The Irish actor set pulses racing when the first official trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey finally got released.
Jamie gave us a glimpse into his portrayal of Christian Grey (topless of course) and this trailer became the most watched film trailer in 2014.
