Changing the tune! Ryan Tubridy taking over at BBC

Ryan Tubridy has been confirmed to take over Terry Wogan’s BBC 2 Radio show – after the TV icon has taken ill.

The RTE star will sit in for the legendary broadcaster for two of his November shows as the 77-year-old recovers from a procedure on his back.

“First and foremost, I want to wish Terry the best of health, I’ve been an admirer since I was a young boy watching Wogan on the television and more recently listening to him on Radio 2,” he said.

“I will do my very best to keep his listeners entertained, or at least, occupied, for the next couple of weeks until the man himself returns.”

No stranger to the British broadcaster, the Late Late Show presenter covered for many of the BBC’s biggest names on the airwaves during his summer holidays.

Previously sitting in for Graham Norton, Ken Bruce and Chris Evans among others, Ryan has consistently drawn in solid ratings with his work across the pond.

The Dubliner will be live on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday 15th & Sunday 22nd November from 11.00-1.00pm.
