Aidan Gillen cast in new Guy Ritchie film

Irish actor Aidan Gillen is set to join an all-star cast for Guy Richie’s latest film King Arthur.

The Dubliner who played John boy in Love/Hate will star alongside a host of star studded names in the big budget film including Eric Bana, Jude Law and Blood Diamonds Djimon Hounsou.

Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, who was originally cast as Christian Grey later played by Jamie Dornan, will play the title role of King Arthur in the movie.

The film which is slated for July 22 2016, has begun filming at Warner Bros, Studios in the UK and will take in locations in Wales and Scotland.

Guy Richie’s re-imagining King Arthur “introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londonium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur – and with it, his future”.

“Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King,” said Warner Bros.
