The first trailer for The Mummy reboot has dropped, and everyone is very, very, confused.
The film will star Tom Cruise as the lead role, which has left plenty of people dumbfounded as they had no idea he had even signed up for the major part.
The 2 minute, 32 second-long clip opens with Tom Cruise and Peaky Blinders star Annabelle Wallis being thrown around a crashing airplane.
The next scene then shows Tom bursting out of a body bag, as if he’s just come back from the dead.
Universal released the trailer three years after they announced that they were working on a franchise based around classic Hollywood monsters.
The Mummy remake, which is directed by Alex Kurtzman, follows a team of archaeologists who accidentally disturb the evil spirit of an ancient Egyptian princess, Queen Ahmanet, played by Sofia Boutella. The spirit then seeks revenge on the team, including Tom, and the modern-day world.
While the trailer is certainly very action-packed, and basically has Tom Cruise’s name all over it – fans of The Mummy classic aren’t too impressed, and are calling for the return of Brendan Fraser, who starred in the 1999 remake alongside Rachel Weisz.
Omg wtf they’re doing another remake of the mummy? With Tom Cruise?? Ugh Brendan Fraser did such a good job, THERE’S NO NEED FOR THIS

V confused. Why are they rebooting The Mummy? What’s wrong with the original? Did I miss something?

Is Tom Cruise also a mummy? I’m confused. Also by the need to remake a movie originally starring Brendan Fraser. At least go with Airheads

Tom Cruise’s Mummy will flop because we already have the beloved Brendan Fraser version
