Loose Women star quits the show after landing ‘dream job’

Loose Women star Sophie Morgan has quit the show after landing her “dream job” in the US.

The 38-year-old was on the panel for three years but has decided to move to America to work alongside Reese Witherspoon as she plans to concentrate on her disability advocacy.

The presenter is paralysed from the chest down after a car crash at 18.

Sophie took to Instagram to give her followers a lengthy update – including her future plans for Loose Women.

She wrote: “I also wanted to update you on the latest with Loose Women.”

“Whilst I had an incredible time working there (it was a dream platform for a disabled woman with a lot to say), the time has come to part ways.”

“I am very proud to have been part of their groundbreaking work, including campaigns such as ‘Body Stories’ – which celebrated body diversity & confidence – ‘Facing It Together’ – a campaign about domestic abuse – & of course, my baby, ‘Rights on Flights’, which was born on the show last year.”

She continued: “Firstly, as some of you know, it has been a dream of mine to live and work in the US for some time now, & it has finally become a reality.”

“I find life here so accessible; I feel like a different person, more free and less disabled – thanks partly to the ADA, the weather and the general positivity! I will be based between LA & London for the foreseeable & am excited to continue sharing my adventures with you all.”

Sophies upcoming documentary will be made with Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine

Speaking about her life-changing accident, she told The Sun: “I wasn’t drunk, I was just driving like an idiot.”

“I’d only had my licence a few months, so I wasn’t particularly experienced.”

“Because the car was full of my friends I was a bit distracted and it was late at night, about 3 or 4 in the morning on country lanes.”

“It was a perfect storm for a crash really,” she admitted.

She confessed: “Back at the beginning, everyone told me there were so many things I couldn’t do, shouldn’t do, and wouldn’t do.”

“And I was like, ‘Hold on a minute. Why not?’ and every year I set the goal a little bit higher and make the goalposts a little bit wider,” she added.

The accident left her in a wheelchair, however, the others in the car received minor injuries.

She joined Loose Women in 2021.
