Zara McDermott has revealed the real reason why her and Sam Thompson’s relationship wasn’t affected by the infamous “Strictly curse”.
The Love Island star competed on the hit BBC show this year, before being eliminated during the Halloween Week of the series.
The influencer was partnered with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima, who she grew close to during her time on the show.
During her appearance on the Saving Grace podcast, Zara revealed she “couldn’t understand” how so many couples have been affected by the infamous curse, and explained that she was simply “really good friends” with Graziano.
“You very quickly become like brother and sister and you kind of have that bickery relationship. Also there are cameras in the room most of the time with you,” she said.
“For me, it was not the environment for anything like that to ever happen, I guess it has happened in the past, but people have affairs and relationships in the office all the time.”
On Wednesday, Zara was reunited with her boyfriend Sam after he was crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
Sharing sweet snaps of their reunion on Instagram, the former Made in Chelsea star wrote: “She brought balloons 😂🥹 Reunited with the love of my life.”

Sam flew back to London with his best friend Pete Wicks, as he was the special guest to greet him at the end of the bridge when he was crowned King of the Jungle in Australia.
Zara previously revealed the reason why Pete went to Australia instead of her.
In an Instagram post to fans, she explained: “Pete is going. We’ve had a few laughs and jokes about this, but in all seriousness; Sam thought I was still going to be in Strictly (bless him, the optimism), so Pete cleared his whole diary for 2/3 weeks to be there.”
