Phillip Schofield responds to Dancing On Ice ‘fix’ claims

Phillip Schofield has hit back at viewers who claimed that Dancing On Ice was a ‘fix’, after he told contestant Gemma Collins that she will be back ‘next week’ before the voting lines had opened.

After her performance, Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby comforted the upset reality star and told her not to worry and that she had next week, but viewers took to Twitter to accuse the show of being fixed.

One tweeted: “I have put an official complaint to @ofcom on their web site after @Schofe saying live on air that @missgemcollins would be skating next week. Voters have been ripped off if there has been a fix. #DancingOnIce.”

Phillip defended what he said and replied: “We say that to everyone! You are hilarious with your conspiracy theory. Voting is independently adjudicated. I only know the result as I say it.”

Another viewer tweeted: “I’m sure that it’s fixed that Gemma is through – Philip Schofield said after her skate (I used that term loosely) “you’ve got all next week to rebuild your confidence” (or words to that effect) – how did he know that before the skate-off?”

The Dancing On Ice presenter laughed off the accusations and replied: “I DIDN’T … I was being supportive.. bore off.”

The 56-year-old made it very clear that the votes are checked by an independent company, and highlighted how ‘fixing’ a show is illegal.

He wrote: “WE ARE INDEPENDENTLY ADJUDICATED!!! All votes are checked and agreed by an independent company.”
