Millie Bobby Brown has addressed the reason behind her “new” accent.
The Stranger Things star raised eyebrows after appearing on Jimmy Fallon with a seemingly American accent.
The 20-year-old appeared in a TikTok video with content creator Max Balegde where she told him why the accent change has occured.

The actress who grew up in Bournemouth, England currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her fiancé Jake Bongiovi.
Frustrated with hate online, Millie told Max: “So, I’m an actor. I grew up in the public eye. I grew up in America, I come to set and I’m an actor and I adapt. And so I want to mimic people.”
“I can’t help that when I’m around my fiancé or when I’m around people like Jimmy Fallon, who have a very American accent, I wanna replicate it,”
“And now I’m in England, I wanna replicate that. I don’t do it intentional and I’m sorry if it offends you. But listen, I’m trying my best!”
She continued; “She’s Millie Bobby Brown and she can speak how she wants.”
“I’m trying my best,” the actress reiterated for dramatic effect.
Taking to Instagram in April 2023 to share the happy news, the actress wrote: “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all 🤍”
Jake also shared photos of him and Millie on the beach after his proposal, and wrote: “Forever 🤍”
Millie and Jake went Instagram official with their romance in November 2021, after sparking romance rumours earlier that year.
